The second frigate, INS Tamal, will be delivered early next year. Both stealth frigates will be equipped with advanced weaponry, including BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles.
Features:
The ship is named Tushil, meaning “protector shield” in Sanskrit.
The ships are designed for multi-role naval warfare, with a combination of Indian and Russian weapons and sensors.
The frigates feature stealth technology, including low radar and noise signatures.
Indian-supplied equipment includes missiles, sonar, radar and ASW systems, alongside Russian systems.
