Government launched the ‘NITI For States’, a cross-sectoral knowledge platform for Policy and Good Governance.

  • Union Minister of Communications, Railways, and Electronics & Information Technology, launched the ‘NITI for States’ platform, a comprehensive digital initiative designed to empower states and union territories (UTs) in their pursuit of national development goals.
  • The minister also observed the operation of a Viksit Bharat Strategy Room, an interactive space for data visualisation and analysis of best practices and policy trends.

Viksit Bharat Strategy Room

  • It is an interactive space where users will be able to visualise data, trends, best practices and policies to make a holistic assessment of any problem statement.
  • Various government organizations have collaborated in this initiative by NITI Aayog.
    It includes iGOT Karmayogi bringing online training modules called “SAMARTH.
    NITI Aayog’s National Data and Analytics Platform (NDAP) has been integrated to give access to government data sets.
    National E-Governance Division (NeGD) has extended support to develop the first-of-its-kind Viksit Bharat Strategy Room.

About NITI For States’

  • It is developed by the central think tank NITI Aayog.
  • It aims to integrate data across states, centralising findings to inform future decisions by state governments based on data-driven insights.
  • It includes curated training modules for government officials, focusing on enhancing behavioural, functional, and domain knowledge.

Features of the ‘NITI for States’ platform

  • Extensive Knowledge Base: 7,500 curated best practices, 5,000 policy documents, 900+ datasets, 1,400 data profiles, and 350 NITI Aayog publications.
  • Multilingual Accessibility: In the near future the platform will be available in 22 major Indian languages and 7 foreign languages, ensuring inclusivity for diverse user groups.
  • Capacity Building Initiatives: Tailored digital training modules for officials at various levels (block, district, and state) in collaboration with relevant institutions.
  • Data Integration: Leverages data from the National Data & Analytics Platform (NDAP) for comprehensive and actionable insights, fostering data-driven decision-making.
