Context:
The Prime Minister will launch the LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana today (December 9, 2024) in Panipat, Haryana.

- The Bima Sakhi Yojana, an initiative of the Life Insurance Corporation of India.
- Under the scheme, 10 lakh educated women will receive training for the first three years to enhance financial literacy and raise awareness about the importance of insurance.
- This scheme aims to empower women across the country by providing training for women aged 18 to 70 who have completed at least Class 10.
- The training will help them become LIC agents; after three years, they can earn a commission.
- PM Modi will hand over appointment certificates to potential Bima Sakhis.
LIC Bima Sakhi Yojana Beneficiaries:
- Educated women between the ages of 18 and 70
- Women with at least 10th pass education will be given training for 3 years
- Women will receive a stipend during the training period: ₹7,000 per month in the first year, ₹6,000 in the second year, and ₹5,000 in the third year.
- After completing the training, 10th-pass women will be able to become LIC agents i.e. insurance agents.
- Bachelor pass insurance friends will have a chance to become Development officers in LIC.
