- Recently, the Hon’ble Minister of Jal Shakti, digitally launched the newly
developed the “Bhu-Neer” portal during the concluding ceremony of India Water
Week 2024. - It is an advanced platform developed by the Central Ground Water
Authority (CGWA) under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, in collaboration with
the National Informatics Centre (NIC), to enhance groundwater
regulation nationwide. - It will act as a one-stop platform for managing and regulating groundwater
resources, focusing on ensuring transparency, efficiency, and sustainability
in groundwater usage. - This portal is designed to offer detailed information on the legal framework
governing groundwater extraction, along with regulations at both state
and national levels. - Its centralized database will allow users to access critical information on
groundwater compliance, policies, and sustainable practices. - With a user-friendly and informative interface, the portal includes features
such as a PAN-based single ID system and NOC with a QR code,
among others.
