- These centers are working on future-oriented areas such as Blockchain Technology, Medical Electronics, Health Informatics, Artificial Intelligence, 5G/6G Telecom, Additive Manufacturing, and Drone Technology under the ‘Start in UP’ initiative.
- Under the startup policy, each center will receive a maximum of Rs 10 crore in capital and operating expenses (grant-in-aid) over a period of five years from the date of establishment to become self-reliant and strengthen the state’s startup ecosystem in the long term.
- The Medical Electronics and Health Informatics (MedTech) Centre of Excellence in Lucknow has been developed in collaboration with STPI Lucknow, SGPGI, and the Department of IT and Electronics.
- The 5G/6G Telecom Centre of Excellence, operated by IIT Kanpur, is promoting research and startup development in next-generation telecommunication technologies. The Gautam Buddha Nagar AI and Innovation-based Entrepreneurship (AIIDE) Centre of Excellence is running in collaboration with IIT Kanpur and FICCI.
- The 5G/6G Ubiquitous Wireless Communication Centre of Excellence in Saharanpur, operated by IIT Roorkee, is working in line with the 6G vision. IIT Kanpur’s UAV Design, Training, and Capacity Building Centre of Excellence is providing technical support, testing, design validation, and consultancy to startups in the field of drone technology.
