Context:
Recently, the Government of India has launched the ‘Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan’, a major nationwide campaign aimed at empowering tribal communities by ensuring full access to government benefits.
More on the News
It is launched by Union Minister of Tribal Affairs.

A massive benefit saturation drive is being carried out across 550 tribal districts, 2,900+ blocks and 207 districts dominated by Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), covering around 1 lakh villages and habitations.
The outreach is centered around ‘benefit saturation’ camps that aim to deliver services directly to people’s doorsteps under two major schemes —PM JANMAN (launched in 2023) and Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (launched in 2024).
It is a key initiative under Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh, launched to honour the legacy, culture and contributions of India’s tribal communities, while ensuring that their rights and development benefits reach them at their doorstep.
- “Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh” was launched to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan “Birsa Munda”, a revered tribal freedom fighter and leader.
