- Livestock Sector:
- Uttar Pradesh’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) for the financial year stood at ₹25.63 lakh crore, with the livestock sector contributing ₹1.67 lakh crore making up 7.1% of the Gross State Value Added (GSVA).The top five contributing districts to the GSVA are Bulandshahr, Meerut, Aligarh, Agra, and Saharanpur.The districts recording the highest growth in GVA for this sub-sector include Mahoba (42.1%), Jhansi (41.1%), Ambedkar Nagar (36.2%), Ayodhya (34.1%), and Lalitpur (34.1%).The report further noted that, among major livestock products, milk holds the dominant share, contributing 83.3% to the livestock sector GVA.Uttar Pradesh continues to lead the country in milk production, reaching 388 lakh metric tonnes in 2023–24, a 7% increase from the previous year, the report stated.The state contributes 16.2% to the nation’s total milk output.Uttar Pradesh’s share in national egg production rose from 3.29% in 2022–23 to 4.15% in 2023–24, reflecting a growth of 29.9%, compared to 12.8% in the previous year.

- It contributed ₹25,859 crore during the period, marking a 3.9% growth over the previous year.
- The forestry sector continued to be a vital part of the state’s economy, with its GVA reaching ₹25,859 crore in 2023–24.
- The top five districts contributing the most to forestry GVA were Lakhimpur Kheri (₹1,255 crore), Sonbhadra (₹1,115 crore), Saharanpur (₹827 crore), and Pilibhit (₹815 crore), together accounting for 20% of the state’s total forestry GVA.
- The districts recording the highest growth in forestry GVA were Kanpur Nagar (14.1%), Sant Kabir Nagar (12.4%), Moradabad (11.2%), Ghazipur (10.9%), and Hathras (10.1%).
- Fisheries Sub-Sector:
- It saw a substantial rise of 34.1%, with a contribution of ₹19,071 crore.
- In the fisheries sector, fish production rose to 11.56 lakh metric tonnes (MT) in 2023–24, marking a 26.4% increase.
- The state accounted for 8.3% of the country’s total inland fish production and contributed ₹19,071 crore to the GSVA.
- The top five districts for inland fish production were Gorakhpur, Bahraich, Hardoi, Etah, and Mahoba.
