A total of 766 Agri-junctions are planned to be established across the state in the 2025–26 financial year.

  • According to detailed guidelines issued by the state agriculture department, these Agri-junctions intended to enhance agricultural productivity and will employ unemployed youth with degrees in agricultural science and related fields.
  • Before their placement, these graduates will undergo training and will then be deployed at Krishi Kendras to offer “one-stop shop” services to farmers.
  • These centers are planned to be established in nearly all development blocks and tehsil headquarters across the state.
  • The primary functions of these Agri-junctions will include providing farmers with high-quality seeds, fertilizers, micronutrients, and pesticides.
  • These centers will also offer guidance on the adoption of new agricultural technologies and promote the balanced use of fertilizers based on proper soil testing.
  • They will support farmers with access to mechanized farming tools and help them avail benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme.
  • According to the guidelines, youth selected under the Agri-junction scheme will receive free training and will also be assisted in securing bank loans to set up their centers.
  • The entire process is set to be completed within six months.
  • The candidate selection will be carried out by a district-level committee after thoroughly screening the applications.
