Context:
According to a list issued for March by the Uttar Pradesh government, Hamirpur district topped the district development ranking in the state, achieving an impressive 97.5% marks.

- Jalaun claimed the second spot with a score of 97.40 % percent, followed closely by Ambedkar Nagar in third place with 97.1 %.
- Kanpur, Pilibhit, Lucknow, Basti, Chitrakoot, and Sonbhadra secured 94.4% marks, positioning them at 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, and 27th places, respectively.
- In line with the Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP), the state government ranks districts based on their progress across key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Performance data is made available through the ‘Champions of Change’ portal.
- Each month, districts are ranked based on their performance across 49 KPIs, grouped under five core themes:
- Health and Nutrition
- Education
- Agriculture
- Water Resources,
- Financial Inclusion and Skill Development, and Infrastructure.
