• Veer Baal Diwas is celebrated on 26th December, this year it is celebrated at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
  • During the event the PM launched the ‘Suposhit Panchayat Abhiyaan to improve nutrition outcomes and community participation.
  • Moreover, on this day 17 children are awarded the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) for extraordinary achievements in seven categories, with each awardee receiving a medal, certificate and citation booklet.
  • This day is celebrated to honours the incredible courage of two young Sikh warriors (Guru Gobind Singh’s youngest sons- Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh) who, in the face of tremendous pressure, refused to give up their faith and opted for martyrdom rather than conversion on December 26, 1705.
  • This heroic event took place at Anandpur Sahib Fort, where the Mughal Army surrounded the fort and forced Guru Gobind Singh, his family and followers to escape.
  • To remember this sacrifice of the sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, in the year 2022, the Government of India had announced to celebrate Veer Bal Diwas on 26th December every year.

Suposhit Panchayat Abhiyaan
