Context:
Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (UPMRC) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi.

- The MoU was signed to boost mobile network connectivity for commuters in underground metro stations and tunnels.
- BSNL will now leverage UPMRC’s In-Building Solution (IBS) infrastructure, which is already in place at underground metro stations and tunnel corridors in the Lucknow, Kanpur, and Agra Metros, as well as in all future metro projects.
- This collaboration aims to improve mobile network coverage for commuters within UPMRC stations and tunnel sections.
- This partnership with BSNL is in line with UPMRC’s mission to enhance metro travel by combining efficiency, safety, and seamless digital connectivity.
