Context:
The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department has unveiled plans to develop world-class ropeway systems at two of the state’s prominent pilgrimage sites—Valmiki Ashram in Chitrakoot and Siddh Baba Temple on Gorakh Giri Hill in Mahoba.

- A ropeway will be constructed near Bagrehi village, along the Chitrakoot–Prayagraj highway, to link devotees with the ancient ashram of Maharishi Valmiki, the author of the Ramayana.
- This site, cherished for its spiritual importance, draws pilgrims throughout the year. The department has earmarked 8,920 sq meters of land for the project.
- Mahoba Gorakh Giri Hill:
- At Siddh Baba Temple, the ropeway will provide pilgrims with access to this sacred site linked to Guru Gorakhnath, situated about 2 km from Mahoba city in Raheliya village.
- The department has designated 9,750 sq meters of land for the project.
- Both systems will be constructed with cutting-edge technology to ensure exceptional reliability and safety, providing a comfortable experience for all visitors, particularly elderly and physically challenged pilgrims.
- The introduction of ropeways is expected to significantly increase the number of devotees visiting these sites annually, as they are designed to improve safety, reduce congestion, and create local employment opportunities.
