Context:
The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved the proposal for the formation of the Uttar Pradesh Rozgar Mission.
More on News:

- The Mission aims to provide 1 lakh jobs within the country and 25,000–30,000 jobs abroad to the state’s youth within a year.
- The employment initiative was one of the 30 proposals approved by the Cabinet and the Minister of Finance and Parliamentary Affairs.
- Under the Uttar Pradesh Rozgar Mission, the state government can now directly assist youth in securing jobs both within India and abroad.
- The state relied on licensed recruiting agents (RAs) for overseas placements.
- The Uttar Pradesh Rozgar Mission, which empowers the government to directly facilitate employment opportunities both in India and abroad, will be formally established under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
- It will function as a high-level body comprising five key components:
- Governing Council,
- State Steering Committee,
- State Executive Committee,
- State Programme Management Unit,
- District Executive Committee.
- Key functions of the mission:
- Job demand survey in India and abroad
- Listing of top companies and gathering job requirements
- Identifying skill gaps and offering training
- Language training and pre-departure orientation
- Career counselling and campus placements
- Post-placement support and follow-up
