- The multi-faceted approach emphasizes awareness, education, and rehabilitation to ensure that every child in the state has access to opportunities for growth, learning, and a dignified future, free from forced labour.
- To mark the World Day Against Child Labour, Uttar Pradesh will hold special awareness programs as part of its intensified campaign to end child labour by 2027.
- So far, 10,336 child labourers have been identified, and 12,426 have been rehabilitated through education since 2017.
- The government has also provided financial aid to 1,089 families to prevent child labour.
- Under the ‘Bal Shramik Vidya Yojana’, 2,000 working children have been enrolled in schools and provided with financial support to ensure uninterrupted education.
- The scheme aims to promote learning while also shifting social attitudes against child labour.
- The government has taken a strong stand against bonded labour, rehabilitating 1,408 bonded labourers between 2018–19 and 2024–25.
- They have been provided financial assistance totaling ₹18.17 crore.
- This initiative marks a significant step toward empowering individuals to lead independent and dignified lives.
- At present, eight welfare schemes for organised sector workers are being implemented through the Labour Welfare Council, backed by a ₹40 crore corpus fund allocated by the state government.
