Context: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced plans to establish Divyang Rehabilitation Centers at every divisional headquarters in the state.

- These centers are designed to ensure that divyangs receive comprehensive support, integrating them into the mainstream of society.
- At present, 37 districts in Uttar Pradesh have established Divyang Rehabilitation Centers, with 11 of these centers located at divisional headquarters.
- The new centers will be equipped with the latest facilities to offer a range of services to divyangs, including:
- Medical care
- Educational support
- Psychological counseling
- Vocational training
- Orthotic and prosthetic assistance
- Equipment distribution
- Comprehensive services will be provided under one roof to help divyangs lead more independent and productive lives.
- In areas with existing rehabilitation centers, the focus will be on enhancing and upgrading them as model centers.
- For regions without centers, the government will prioritize establishing them in district or government hospitals for easy medical service access.
- Centers will incorporate digital registration and online monitoring tools to track services and ensure transparency.
- Each center will be managed by a committee, chaired by the District Magistrate, to oversee operations and maintain high service standards.
