Context: The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 700 crore at the meeting for PM Mitra Park to establish Uttar Pradesh as a textile hub.
- The investors’ meeting was held to establish a Mega Textile and Apparel Park on 1,000 acres along the Lucknow-Hardoi border under the Government of India’s PM MITRA Scheme.
- The Uttar Pradesh Government signed two MoUs for its development.
- The CM distributed Rs 210 crore in incentives to 80 investors contributing to Uttar Pradesh’s textile industry under the 2017 Textile and Apparel Policy.
- The PM MITRA Park in Lucknow is the only one in the state capital, with the Detailed Project Report (DPR) process already underway.
- The park will offer integrated facilities for weaving, dyeing, printing, designing, and packaging to meet textile market demands.
- Additionally, the state will establish 10 new textile parks named after Sant Kabir Das and two leather parks in honor of Sant Ravidas to support the PM MITRA Park and boost the textile and leather sectors.
- Lucknow is famous for its centuries-old chikankari embroidery.

- The Ministry of Textiles has announced the creation of 7 Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks with an investment of Rs. 4,445 crores.
