The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs launched Swachhata Pakhwada, 2024 from 16th to 30th April.
About Swachhata Pakhwada
- The Swachhata Pakhwada is a special initiative initiated by the Hon’ble PM as a part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, aimed at mainstreaming sanitation and cleanliness in all Ministries and their programmes in the Government of India- a Step towards making the Swachh Bharat Mission “Everyone’s Business”.
- During the pakhwada, special emphasis was placed on improving current cleanliness levels in the office premises, disposal of scrap/waste materials and utilization of social media to amplify this message.
- The process will include the review and disposal of pending physical files by the Ministry.
- All the pending physical files of the Ministry will be reviewed and recorded. If required, old and obsolete electronic and other items will be collected and auctioned.
- Apart from the Swachhata campaign inside/outside the rooms/chambers allotted to the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, it has also been proposed to conduct an Intra-School Essay Competition in one of the Delhi government schools during Swachhata Pakhwada.
- The competition aims to make students more aware of the importance and efficacy of Swachhata.
- With citizens now becoming active participants in cleanliness activities across the nation, the dream of a ‘Clean India’ once seen by Mahatma Gandhi has begun to take shape.
