The NIPUN Bharat Mission is being actively implemented with renewed focus in the basic schools of Prayagraj to strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy among young students.

  • As part of this initiative, the education department has launched an incentive-based system aimed at encouraging teachers and schools to meet specific learning outcomes and enhance student performance.
  • Teachers who successfully achieve the NIPUN learning goals for students from Bal Vatika (pre-primary) to Class 2 within the stipulated timeline will be honoured with the prestigious title of NIPUN Champion Head Master of the District’.  
  • The state aims to identify and recognise 400 outstanding educators from across Uttar Pradesh under this initiative.
    • These exemplary teachers will receive a cash award of ₹25,000 and will also be given the opportunity to participate in educational exposure visits to other states.
    • These tours are designed to broaden their perspectives and enrich their teaching practices.
    • The selected teachers will undergo specialised training modules to further enhance their professional skills and instructional effectiveness.
  • After students enrolled in a school achieve the expected competencies outlined under the NIPUN goals, the headmaster, in coordination with the teaching staff, will initiate the registration of the school for evaluation on the Prerna Portal.
  • This process will be guided by detailed instructions issued by the State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha, ensuring a structured and transparent evaluation framework.
  • The evaluation process will be conducted under the supervision of DIET (District Institute of Education and Training) principals, with support from Academic Resource Persons (ARPs) and DIET mentors from neighbouring development blocks.
  • Key data sources, including student enrolment figures from the Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) and attendance records from the Prerna Portal’s digital registers, will play a central role in guiding the assessment.
  • After the DIET principal formally certifies the school as having achieved ‘NIPUN’ status, a comprehensive evaluation of all students will be conducted by DElEd trainees, under the guidance of the State Project Office and the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT).
  • To ensure transparency, accuracy, and fairness, the assessment will be carried out using robust, IT-enabled systems.
