The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions has taken significant steps in enhancing the capacity building of government employees through Mission Karmayogi.

  • Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh recently launched two key portals – ‘Amrit Gyan Kosh’ and ‘Faculty Development’ – to further strengthen this initiative.  
  • ‘Amrit Gyan Kosh’ portal launched as a shared learning resources knowledge bank.
  • ‘Faculty Development’ portal was introduced to ensure practitioners and faculties can effectively deliver knowledge to civil servants.

Key Achievements:

  • Massive Training: Over 3.1 million government employees have undergone training annually, indicating a strong focus on skill development.
  • Expanded Reach: The program’s scope has broadened beyond civil servants, suggesting a more inclusive approach to capacity building.

About Mission Karmayogi:

  • Launch Date: 2nd September 2020
  • It is a National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building (‘NPCSCB’). 
  • “Mission Karmayogi, brainchild of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • Objective: Transform the functioning of the Indian bureaucracy.

  • Quality Assurance: Accreditation of 140 training institutes and launching 13 Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs) underscore a commitment to maintaining high training standards.
  • Cross-Sectoral Learning: The emphasis on collaboration and learning from sectors like space, which has undergone rapid growth, indicates a forward-thinking approach to governance.

Achievements and Future Outlook:

  • The initiative has been well-integrated into the governance structure, contributing positively to achieving Minimum Government and Maximum Governance.
  • Mission Karmayogi and NCBC will play a pivotal role in achieving the vision of India @2047, as the quality of governance is directly influenced by the training imparted in civil service training institutions, emphasizing that continuous learning and competency-driven capacity building are at the core of the mission.
