India hosted the 71st Miss World pageant at the Jio World Centre in BKC, Mumbai after a gap of 28 years. 

  • Last time India hosted the 46th edition in 1996 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. 

Miss World 2024 Highlights

  • Krystyna Pyszkova of Czech Republic won the coveted Miss World 2024 title. 
  • Yasmina Zaytoun of Lebanon was named the first runner-up. 
  • Contestants from 115 countries competed against each other to win the coveted crown. 
  • The event was broadcast in more than 140 countries and territories. 
  • This year, 22-year-old Sini Shetty, winner of Miss India World in 2022, represented India at the competition.

Who organizes Miss world?

The Miss World organization is responsible for running the Miss World pageant

Miss World Organization: This is the governing body that oversees all aspects of the pageant, from setting rules and criteria to selecting judges and managing the event itself.

Chairperson and CEO: Julia Morley currently holds this position. She has led the organization since the death of her husband, Eric Morley, who founded the pageant in 1951.

National Franchise Holders: In each participating country, a national franchise organization is responsible for selecting and preparing a contestant to represent their nation at Miss World.

Humanitarian Award 2024 

There are two main contenders for “Humanitarian Award 2024”:

  1. Nita Ambani: Won “Beauty With a Purpose” award at Miss World 2024 for her philanthropic work.
  2. Herbek Humanitarian Award: Selection process ongoing by CAP Foundation (announcement by late June 2024).
