Recently, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister introduced the state’s first double-decker electric bus in Lucknow.
- It will operate regularly between Kamta Crossing and the airport via Shaheed Path.
- The initiative aims to reduce traffic congestion, support environmental conservation and cut air pollution in the city.
- To promote local art and handicrafts of Uttar Pradesh the bus will operate in two ways: as a heritage tour bus in the mornings and as a passenger bus in the evenings and free travel for women every Saturday morning on the heritage route.
- The CM also announced a 50% discount on tickets for women traveling on the double-decker electric bus service.
- Features:
- The bus can carry up to 65 passengers at a time.
- Passengers making digital payments will receive a 10% discount.
- For safety, especially for women, the bus is equipped with five CCTV cameras and a panic button.
- An electronic tracking device allows passengers to check the bus’s real-time location.
