Context: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is set to launch its IT City project on Sultanpur Road in January, giving land donors the first pick of plots through a lottery.

- The initiative forms part of the LDA’s major upcoming housing developments, including Anantnagar, Naimaishnagar, Varun Vihar, and Education City.
- IT City is being developed as a state-of-the-art integrated township under the Lucknow Smart City and Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority framework.
- The project includes dedicated zones for IT/ITES companies, residential areas, commercial spaces, and educational institutions.
About IT City Project:

- Total Area and Land Allocation Mechanism: The IT City project, spread across 2,660 acres, is being developed through a land pooling model.
- Land donors will receive 25% of the developed land in return through lottery mechanism.
- After the January lottery for land donors, the remaining plots will be opened for public registration.
- Project layout: The layout includes plots ranging from 72 to 200 square metres, along with several large civic features.
- Around 10,000 residential plots are being carved out, and the township is expected to house close to 1 lakh people once fully built.
- A planned golf city will be centered around a 200-acre green belt.
- A 15-acre water body is being designed with an emphasis on environmental sustainability.
- Approximately 400 acres of land will be reserved for industrial use and 200 acres for commercial activities.
- Last mile Connectivity: A 2-km approach road will be built linking the site to Kisan Path, thus enhancing access and connectivity.
