Context:

The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has initiated land acquisition for its highly anticipated 1,696-acre IT City project, set to be developed along Sultanpur Road.

  • Under this project, land will be given on a priority basis to entrepreneurs participating through the Invest UP initiative.
  • The project is a major step toward establishing a dedicated IT hub in the state capital, aiming to attract companies in the information technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and software sectors.
  • The planned development will feature 4,000 residential plots, 350 acres dedicated to the IT industry, 60 acres for commercial activities, a golf city within the green belt, and a 15-acre water body to promote environmental sustainability.
  • A joint team from the LDA’s acquisition and engineering departments took possession of approximately 46 bighas of land in Mohari Khurd, located between the Sultanpur National Highway and Kisan Path, and commenced construction of the site office.
  • The project work officially began with the installation of a signboard at the location.
  • As part of the initial phase, 23 landowners from four villages have voluntarily contributed approximately 165 acres of land under the land pooling model.
  • The IT City will be developed between the Sultanpur National Highway and Kisan Path, encompassing villages such as Bakkas, Sonai Kanjehra, Sikandarpur Amoliya, Siddhpura, Parehta, Pahadnagar Tikriya, Raqeebabad, Mohari Khurd, Khujouli, and Bhatwara.
  • With excellent road connectivity, the project is expected to greatly benefit both residents and investors.
  • Large plots have been earmarked for the development of technology parks, a global business park, science and engineering equipment sectors, and a super-specialty medical zone.
  • The establishment of these industries is expected to generate substantial employment opportunities.

Land allocation will be prioritized for investors who submit proposals through the Invest UP initiative.
