Mongolia is hosting the 17th edition of the India-Mongolia Joint Military Exercise Nomadic Elephant.

- The exercise is planned to take place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from May 31 to June 13, 2025.
- The exercise Nomadic Elephant is an annual event conducted alternatively in India and Mongolia.
- The Indian contingent will be represented mainly by troops from a battalion of the Arunachal Scouts.
- The Mongolian Armed Forces contingent will be represented by 150 Special Forces unit.
- The objective of the exercise is to improve interoperability between the two militaries through joint task force operations in semi-conventional scenarios, particularly in semi-urban and mountainous terrain, under the United Nations mandate.
- The last edition of the exercise was held in Umroi, Meghalaya, in July 2024.
- The first edition of the Nomadic Elephant military exercise was hosted by Mongolia in 2004.
