- The project will be initiated under the supervision of the NEDA department.
- CBG plant in Baghi will be developed by ONGC, while Reliance will set up the plants in Mehdawal and Khalilabad.
- The construction of these CBG plants is expected to boost employment opportunities in the district and facilitate effective disposal of crop residue.
- Land has been allocated for the Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) plants in Parajudih (Khalilabad), Amarha (Mehdawal), and Baghi (Dhanghata).
- The total estimated cost for setting up all three plants is Rs 600 crore, and they are expected to produce 60 tonnes of gas per day.
- Key Benefits of the CBG Plants:
- Cow dung, agricultural waste, and kitchen waste will be converted into compost, biogas, and bio-CNG.
- The project supports the Gobar Dhan Yojana, contributing to cleaner rural environments.
- Biogas will provide energy for cooking and lighting.
- Farmers and cattle rearers will gain a new source of income.
- Residue left after electricity generation can be used as fertilizer for crops.
