Context: In the current financial year, more than 1.2 lakh couples applied under the Uttar Pradesh government’s Samuhik Vivah Scheme, and around 14,000 community wedding ceremonies were conducted, highlighting the scheme’s broad reach and its role in supporting families across diverse social groups.
