It refers to the leading edge of technological progress, often representing the most advanced innovations.
Significance of Frontier Technology Labs (FTLs)
- The FTLs is an advanced version of Atal Tinkering Lab equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, including all components of the Tinkering Labs.
- Till date, Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) has established 10,000 Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs) in schools across 722 districts in India to foster curiosity, creativity, and imagination in young minds.
- FTLs empower students to innovate using technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Augmented & Virtual Reality, Blockchain, Cybersecurity, Robotics, 3D Printing, and Internet of Things.
- The FTLs will be funded by Meta and Atal Innovation Mission will be the knowledge partner.
• These labs will be managed by Meta’s partner 1M1B (One Million for One Billion).
- 1M1B (1 Million for 1 Billion) established in 2014 enables youth to become future ready problem solvers creating real world impact. It is a United Nations accredited non-profit with special consultative status to the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and is associated with the UN Department of Global Communications.
