The Centre has been established by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in collaboration with Redington Foundation.
The partnership prioritises:

Placement-linked skilling
Access to employer networks
Local community mobilisation
Special focus on women and marginalized youth
Objective: To train around 600 candidates mainly underprivileged youth and women from Baraut and Chhaprauli blocks in Baghpat district.
The Baraut centre will serve as the main training hub, supported by a spoke centre in Chhaprauli to broaden local access.
Building an Inclusive Skilling Ecosystem: It represents a key step in Uttar Pradesh’s efforts to:
Empower youth to achieve financial self-reliance.
Bridge skill gaps in rural regions.
Develop a workforce aligned with emerging national digital priorities.
Bolster the foundations of Atmanirbhar Bharat through enhanced skill preparedness.
This initiative complements the Government of India’s broader mission of Skill India, Digital India, and Make in India, enabling rural and semi-urban districts to grow as new centres of skilled talent.
Government Initiatives to enhance Skill development in UP
U.P. Skill Development Mission: Established in 2013, to train youth aged 14–35 in their preferred trades, enhancing the skills of unskilled and semi-skilled workers.
Provision for the vulnerable section: 30% targets are earmarked for women; 20% for minorities.
Scheme integration: This mission is a convergence of six schemes such as:
Project Praveen: Launched in the 2022-23 academic session, to enhance skill development among students and making them job-ready.
Up to Feb 2025, 62,500 students have received free skill training under the scheme.
