- UP government has been submitted a proposal worth ₹2.15 lakh crore to the Central Finance Commission, requesting financial assistance for rural local bodies.
- The proposal includes an allocation of:
- ₹1.74 lakh crore for gram panchayats
- ₹17,334 crore for block-level development
- ₹22,940 crore for district panchayats
- These funds are intended to upgrade key infrastructure, including roads, drainage systems, electricity, and drinking water facilities.
